Ok... so I have some news...

In our last episode you might remember that I’d just started working with the lovely and talented singer-songwriter, JULIA BRYAN. Well, we’ve managed to be somewhat productive over the last couple of months, and have just completed her first 5-song “EP” (which stands for extra play, as opposed to a 12-15 tune “LP”).

The EP, intended to be a “demo” for her 2009 launch into Colorado’s Front Range music scene, has already generated enough excitement to make her a featured artist on the syndicated Colorado Wave’s radio broadcast (www.thecoloradowave.com), thanks to host/producer Carmen Allgood, a longtime advocate for the independent music scene. Carmen gets a TON of music submissions, and for her to be as excited about Julia’s talent and potential as we are, is hugely motivating.

Julia’s EP can be heard on her site at www.juliabryan.net, as well as her new Christmas song, “JUST NOT CHRISTMAS”, that was written specifically for the troops serving overseas. Julia’s back-up band is an assemblage of veteran players chompin’ at the bit to give wings to Julia’s incredible voice and genre-hopping musical style. Look for us in 2009.

NEXT up... I’m still having way too much fun rockin’ out on the bass in KEN K’S VIBE (www.kenk.com), and will be with Ken and drummer “Gig” Sassano again on Nov 7th, at the Next Door Bar in Castle Rock. My cocktail hour trio, Zing, is linin’ up the Christmas gigs as you read this. (You can check out all my projects at my www.jeffnormanmusic.com).

Finally, best wishes to my American Idol friend MATT BUCKSTEIN (www.mattbuckstein.com) as he moves to the next level of his career. We had a very successful summer performing with THE HIRED GUNS... enough so, that it’s now necessary for him to put a touring band of “young guns” together and go big time. If you’re a “New Country” fan, keep an eye on Matt, ‘cause he’s got the stuff.

Hey, you gotta love Autumn! When all the politics gets to be too much, just take a walk outside and remind yourself of what really counts...

Have fun!
Jeff
